Andrew Carnie: Being Human explores Carnie’s recent artworks, with extensive illustrations and an introduction by curator Sara Roberts. An extended essay by Professor Tammer El-Sheikh (Concordia University, Montréal, Canada) takes the reader through Carnie’s career from early paintings and sculpture to collaborations with medical research teams making video, installation and kinetic works about hybrid bodies, interpreting and providing artistic perspectives to research on, for instance, heart transplants and implants for epilepsy.
